IT Administrator (m/f/div)
Aufgaben:
Administer computer systems and provide direct support for researchers and staff using Windows, Mac, and Linux
Administer internal servers, cloud services, storage, and other IT resources
Provide user support for IT-related systems including robots, motion capture, video conferencing, and audio / visual systems
Collaborate with scientists by researching, planning, and implementing novel hardware and software solutions for complex research projects
Purchase, configure, and support hardware and software
Maintain user directories and inventory of hardware and software assets
Coordinate with other IT personnel both on campus and at other Max Planck Institutes to support shared resources and provide mutual support

Applicants should
Be trained as an IT specialist, hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or have an equivalent qualification
Have good communication skills in English (spoken and written)
Have knowledge of the Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, including installation, security, and maintenance for these systems
Have experience with troubleshooting and customer support
Have knowledge of networking technologies, Active Directory, and central administration systems, such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Jamf, etc.
Be familiar with common scientific application software and office products
Have experience supporting cloud-based communications and collaboration tools
Have experience supporting a user base of more than 20 employees
Have experience in programming and debugging applications in common languages and environments (C, Python, MATLAB, Bash, ROS, etc.)
Have an interest in haptics, robotics, or AI and would be excited to contribute their ideas and skills to our research
