Regional Category Manager EU Directs (m/f/d)
Procurement responsibility for raw materials to support ASK operations in Europe Conduct on-going raw material market analysis, interpret data and communicate meaningful market intelligence on supply/demand and pricing trends/forecasting etc., that could be potential threats or opportunities for the business Accountable for developing procurement plans and implementing material strategies with defined tactics that deliver year-over-year cost reductions while collaborating with global procurement colleagues across multiple regions to assure alignment with ASK procurement expectations and business needs Drive continuous improvement opportunities, e.g. lower direct material pricing, optimal trade payables, reduced sole sourced materials, cost avoidance, supplier on-time delivery and quality improvement etc. measured by KPIs Conduct contract/price negotiations for direct materials to support European operations with the goal to assure materials are always delivered at the lowest total cost, in the correct quantity and at the right time Build/Develop strong supply partner relationships. Continuous alignment with and support for the operational supply chain team Continuous reporting and performance tracking as required Provide input to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies that is aligned with overall business plan and policies Accountable for compliance to corporate policies and relevant legislation. Manage and keep SAP procurement records up-to-date at all times Provide timely communication as requested to cross-functional partners and management
Bachelor's degree in business studies or related field required 3-5 years experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment, ideally chemical industry 2-4 years procurement experience across different raw material categories (e.g. minerals, alcohols etc.) Ideally knowledge of raw material supply chains Impactful and adaptable negotiating skills capable of influencing business stakeholders and decision makers internally and suppliers externally Ability to generate/deliver valued added procurement solutions that positively affect the performance of the business On top of excellent analytical skills, you are required to demonstrate excellent soft skills in communication across all levels of the organization translating supply market know-how into relevant business language 'Hands-on' mentality Strong interpersonal and influencing skills Working in a matrix organization requires focus on a holistic approach and increases the need for being able to cooperate across functions and act beyond boundaries Fluent German and English, any other language is an advantage Affinity for numbers, KPIs and PC programs
